A Quick Word From Reece
£54,000. Dropped To £32,000. We Quoted £21,000.
And unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've come across it.

Hi there,
Reece here, owner of Direct Windows.
I'm out visiting homeowners across South East London and Kent every week, quoting for windows, doors and conservatories.
And I keep coming across something I honestly thought this industry had left behind years ago.
The old-school, commission-based double glazing salesman.
A huge starting price. Then a discount. Then another discount. Then a phone call to the manager when you still say no.
Suddenly, thousands of pounds have disappeared from the original quote.
|
The Problem I Thought Those Days Were Long Gone.Clearly, they're not. |
|
|
I regularly meet homeowners who've already had some of the big national firms round, companies such as Angl***, Safest*** and others that have been around the industry for years.
I'm not saying every salesman works the same way. I'm simply telling you what I keep coming across when I go out to quote.

A Recent Conservatory Quote This Is The One That Really Got Me.A homeowner was looking for a new conservatory. The original quote they'd been given was:
|
| ↓ The homeowner pushed back |
Their Reduced Quote £32,000 |
|
| ↓ Then I priced the job |
Direct Windows Quote £21,000 |
|
The first company dropped £22,000 from its original quote after the homeowner pushed back.
Our quote was still another £11,000 lower than their reduced price.
That's Exactly The Kind Of Thing I Have A Problem With. |
|
|
And It's Not An Isolated Case
Then There Was This Windows And Doors Quote.
Another homeowner had originally been quoted around £30,000. They said it was too expensive.
The salesman spoke to the manager and suddenly the quote dropped to around £15,000.
£30K First Quote | |
£15K After Manager | |
£13K Our Quote |
We quoted approximately £13,000 for the same job.
|
|
That's Why We Don't Use Commission-Based Salesmen.
Nobody visiting your home needs to increase the value of the job to increase their commission.
We measure the job, explain your options and give you our price.
|
How We Do Things The Price Is The Price. We won't always be the cheapest, and we're not trying to be. Good products, experienced fitters and doing the job properly cost money. What we will do is give you what we believe is a fair price from the start. |

Family-Run Since 1985
For Me, It's Personal.
Direct Windows has been serving homeowners across South East London and Kent since 1985.
My dad spent decades building this business and I've now taken it on.
I'm personally out quoting jobs every week. My name is attached to the business, and the reputation my family has built matters more to me than squeezing every last pound out of one job.

If You're Comparing Quotes Get Two. Get Three. Shop Around. But if thousands of pounds suddenly disappear after you say no, ask yourself why they were there in the first place. |
